…while I’m taking a break, Mom is not. Don’t know if that’s good news or bad news.
Weekend Update.
So, in case you haven’t figured it out yet, my lack of posts simply represents the fact that work has started. And I’m exhausted. So here’s a quick rundown of the past week.
Last Sunday, we had the opportunity to go up to Helen with the staff of The Way for an awesome day of fun. And some great homemade ice cream. Harris’ favorite part by far was walking in the river. My least favorite part by far was walking in the river. Good things James is a nature boy.
And that’s pretty much the rundown. Work is about the only other thing we had going on this week. James is back to his 5:30 am start time, I’m mastering the task of getting myself and two kids up and out the door on time, and Harris and Hadley are adjusting superbly to their time at Ms. Ginnell’s, who is, by the way, the greatest daycare provider of all time.
I’m pretty confident that BeBe has definitely grown on Harry. He asks to hold her all the time, and he made sure that nobody came anywhere near here the first time I dropped both of them off at Ginnell’s. He stood right beside her carseat and vehemently said “no, no, no” to anyone who dared come near her. So I figure he’s either full of love for her or just a wee bit on the controlling side like his Mommy. Either way he’s in good shape. Maybe.
I love my little family.
Rice Cereal.
BeBe had her first taste of cereal tonight…and man, she’s a pro at eating. She definintely inherited that from me.
Harris couldn’t understand how that stuff in the pink bowl was either 1) rice or 2) cereal, but he was super excited about Hadley eating “food.” (As opposed to boob, I guess).
She’s growing up so fast. And if her hair were a little lighter in that picture above (and she had on a blue bib instead of pink–not that I’m into gender stereotyping), she could totally be Harris.
Cheap Entertainment.
We’ve Been Busy.
Water Babies.
Anybody remember those things? Apparently now they come with costumes; Cassidy’s just had regular clothes.
Anyway, my kids have become water babies in their own right. We spent most of Friday and Saturday in some sort of water. I love it when Harris plays in water; he always sleeps so well afterward.
Friday we played in the fountains with Granite and Auntie Cassidy. Grantie chose to rock her Diane Keaton hat. She’s serious about sun protection.
On Saturday morning, Pop came to play. Harry and Pop had a great time at the pool. Pop taught Harris how to hang on to the side of the pool and move around the perimeter. He also taught him how to climb up the stairs in the deep end. Pop was very proud of himself.
And Quinn’s birthday party on Saturday night marked BeBe’s debut in the water.
She, too, seems to like the pool. No tears whatsoever.
I Heart Publix.
Made me laugh:
The other day I was running jogging sweating at the park. On my way home, I had to stop at Publix and pick something up. Even though I only had a couple of bags, I was still escorted to my car by this sweet little high school girl. (That’s the way they roll at Publix). Anyway, we were almost to my car, hadn’t really said anything to each other, and she decides to start the conversation by saying, “Have you ever thought about trying that CertainDri deoderant?”
“No,” I said.
“I hear it works really well. I think it’s a got a great anti-perspirant.”
I wonder if she knew I just came from an attempt at exercise. I hope so. I mean, I know I sweat a lot, but seriously.
I laughed all the way home.
